Yep, this is it for awhile now, at least until the grass grows or it rains a lot. Dave & Beth’s lake is done except for the sand for the beach area. Some of the machinery is already gone…I never dreamed it would be built start to finish in five days! But it was a good week for it, not too hot and no rain. And safety for all involved. We’re very thankful for that!
This digger is gone; the other one will remain for awhile, I’m guessing, because there will be many days of hauling topsoil away yet.
It’s hard to tell much from this distance, but this is it. Tiles are in, overflow is in, and topsoil is covering the dam and what’s left of the hill.
Looking north. The flag is at water level, and the beach area will be between the flag and the earthmover. Topsoil on left = grass, clay to right = lake. On the dam, at the right of the picture, the dark topsoil will be grass; the lighter clay is water level. (If I understand it correctly!!!!)
West side of lake, looking south, parallel to Tennessee Avenue. Again, flag marks water level. Looks like it’s about six feet deep (Dad’s height).

We saw Stuber trucks hauling more topsoil…there is quite a lot to go yet!
