Yep, it’s happening – the equipment moved in this morning, and we are ready to watch!!!!!!
We watched for awhile right after lunch – technically they weren’t digging yet; these earthmovers were scraping off the topsoil and moving it to big piles.
Josh kept wanting ‘dat one’ to go too (the digger) but it wasn’t moving yet then.
When they would turn sharply on the hill, occasionally a back wheel would go way up – made me cringe!!
Very neat!!!
LOTS to see – at this point there were 3 earthmovers going.
Slowly but steadily the pile got bigger -
Time to head home – for now -

Then came the Quad-track!!!! Pulling not one but TWO more scrapers!!
And a bulldozer!!!!

The kids took these, as I had taken littles home. They said this guy was flying around twice as fast as the others, only slowing down to dump.

One of the kids told me this guy’s scraper slid off the hill sideways once! Yikes!
- - - and the digger started digging about then too!
Jesse got to watch a bit before he went to milk.
I took a walk around 3:30 and took these then.
Tori took the kids down for a bit before supper, but I didn’t send the camera. Then after supper, we all went down to check it out and to take out some fence for tomorrow’s earthmoving. Levi & Jesse joined us after they were done milking. It looks radically different already!
This is the trench that the digger was digging, and that one of the earthmovers got stuck in and had to be pulled out by the dozer. The kids said it was deeper at one point, and the earthmovers were putting dirt back into it. We don’t know if they were pulling out good topsoil and replacing it with clay, or what’s going on. We’re just enjoying the show!!
