Continuing right on from the last post when all the kids were here.
Jacob worked overtime all week so he could surprise the younger kids and go to FL with us. So even before Levi's, Jesse's, and Kaitlyn had left Friday evening (February 5), Jacob had his bags packed and was ready to leave yet that night. Dad and I weren't too sure about it, and Tori was due home around midnight (from the work project in FL) and we kind of wanted to at least say hello to her before we left for a week; but kids overwhelmingly voted to go NOW.... so...
Kate scooted on home to pack, having decided the day before that she could pull it off with her classes, and there was a scramble as Levi's and Jesse's left and we finished our packing and got ready to leave asap!
Driving straight through the night, we arrived around 4:00 on Saturday afternoon (February 6) and enjoyed a cool but beautiful peek at the beach before heading out for supper and to our condo. We won't tell who got wet shoes lol.
Somebody spotted this on the beach and thought it was worth sharing. I agree.
We were super tired (imagine that) so the condo was pretty quiet pretty quick.
On Sunday, rain/cool was forecast in Sarasota, so we listened to church as we drove across the state to Ft. Lauderdale where snorkeling was prime for Jacob and Ben. Ben got to touch a shark so it was well worth the drive.
I helped Josh with his final burial; then he waited for the tide. Which compacted the sand to where he needed Dad's help to get out, yikes!
Monday morning found these two diligently attending their zoom classes (until around 10 when they skipped along to the beach for a few hours), Jacob on the beach all day (I think), and the rest of us heading to Myakka River State Park which we thoroughly enjoyed.
It was cool at first so we were thankful we had jackets. On our boat ride, we saw enough alligators and birds to make everyone happy.
It warmed up nicely later in the day.

Back at the condo, time for some swimming before supper.
