July 2026
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Steiner Sunday And More Spring Days

This was the Sunday that Lennon was born. Rafe woke up sick without his daddy and mommy...his cold turned into asthma. I stayed at his house with him, and Grandpa came around noon to help me do this breathing treatment. Sarah came after lunch then and took Rafe to her house for a bit then brought him here to nap... which he didn't do well at all. Poor tyke. He didn't have a great evening. He didn't feel good at all and just wanted his daddy and mommy - who just couldn't take care of him right then. Dad & I went back to church for the afternoon service then went home to prepare for UDave's and ASarah and some of our kids to come for supper for our Steiner Easter meal.

Happy happy birthday to a sweet Emily! She wasn't sure she wanted to be 2... but I think she's getting used to the idea now.

Still sick-y but oh he's gonna singπŸ’™

Rafe slept here in our crib and had a relatively good night - he was quiet until 4am when he was coughing and coughing. I gave him a breathing treatment then and he finally settled back to sleep around 6.
Thankful for Josh's help when I was rather tired.

Who needs toys?😊

Monday, from LucyπŸ’—

Late morning I took Rafe home and he wasn't too sure about Lennon at all!

Getting acquainted -

And a smile!

And maybe I'm a bit prejudiced (me?? of course not!) but this is just a beautiful family - inside and out.

Tuesday, from NatalieπŸ’—
This little girl is so beautiful. Such a miracle.

More miracles - God's beauty and our eyes to see this.

From Jacob & Natalie -

Friday. Rafe and I took a walk around town and went to a few garage sales. We met up with ASarah and omy does Rafe like him a ride.

Back home, Rafe got to know Lennon a little better. This was a first and especially notable because come to find out Saturday morning - he had ear infections. Poor tyke.

Love this so much

A few came for pizza that night. I can't even remember who all came. It's a revolving door around here sometimes. All good😊😊😊

Saturday morning.
