We spent time yesterday watching this bee swarm form into a ball.
Special times with special friends last evening.
That’s it.
More hot days last week made for some pretty sweet sweet corn. I had to take a photo of this sweet corn because it’s the nicest we’ve ever gotten from our own garden. And there was a lot of it - - -
so much that we froze a bushel or so Wednesday morning. Before it got too hot. HA.
Wednesday afternoon was a gorgeous HOT pond afternoon with some Kochs but I forgot my camera so no pictures of that.
Thursday morning Ben helped me pick about six bushels of sweet corn from Tim&Emily’s patch – it was BEAUTIFUL corn and it was the hottest I remember being at 9:00 in the morning. Sweat was dripping onto my glasses. A good workout! That afternoon we enjoyed swimming at U. Mark’s pool – pond or pool, we like both, and when it’s 110* or so, there’s not much else to do outside in the afternoons. We started shucking corn after chores, and help trickled in until everyone was here by suppertime. Except Jacob who had class until about 7:00 or so. LOTS of sweetcorn to cook - - -

Josh had to take a break to play with his pet. Can’t remember its name.
Friday was still hot. Morning chase and jobs then afternoon at U. Randy’s pool; by early evening I was blessed by this scene:
Evidence of little people here; we loved having Lola and Beau for the evening! While Dad & his five boys went to Father/Son Night at the Granary, we had a few friends here for pizza and water play in the backyard. Fun to have Katy and her nephew Sammy. Really, Beau loved the 4wheeler, though it doesn’t look like it in this picture. Sammy wasn’t quite as enthralled with it but did ok as long as Aunt Katy was there. Two pretty sweet 2-year-olds!

Saturday was another work morning, another pond afternoon, and another evening with little people – one with her horses,
and one with his tractors.

Can’t forget Bristol baby; she never lacked for attention either!
Love all these little tykes. Thankful for opportunities to enjoy them.
It’s been a hot week here at the Kaiser Ranch. We’ve spent a portion of every day in water somewere – either Dave’s pond or various pools. Between keeping cool and keeping the peaches and sweet corn under control and enjoying fresh salsa and running a few errands now and then, the week has flown by. As did the weekend.
Back to last Friday the 15th – that was before this so-called heat dome hit us, and we enjoyed a gorgeous backyard evening,
which included a walk through the peach orchard. And I finally had my camera with me, so - - -
Yeah. They’re beautiful. And we’re enjoying them immensely.
Kids have been playing volleyball lately. Even when it’s blazing out – they’re at it.
Sometimes the parents opt out, especially when there’s a beautiful fire to enjoy.
Beautiful evening.
Dad enjoyed a pre-bedtime nap. Yeah. That’s how beautiful it was. Not like the hot humid evenings of this week, that’s for sure.

That’s it for Saturday px - - - Saturday was busy with jobs then some time at Dave’s pond; then Dad & I & Kate & Ben enjoyed a delicious meal and wonderful fellowship at U. Marks before we all headed to church where Kate & Ben (and Audrey) shared their testimony with our precious church family. Was a wonderful wonderful evening. We are so blessed. And thankful.
Sunday then we again enjoyed a beautiful day of worship and fellowship before Kate & Ben & Audrey stood before God and His people and made a covenant with Him and were baptized. Such a wonderful day, event, singing, fellowship, that words can’t begin to express it so I’m not going to try.
So thankful Dan & Anne could be with us for the day and stay for supper after church. Our times together always go by too quickly. Precious relationships that we cherish.
Older kids then went to the Legacy Singing in Morton. Text from one said: “Best all-church singing I’ve ever been to.” A blessing to all. Afterwards, a few friends came over for snacks and more music. An absolutely wonderful ending to an absolutely wonderful weekend.
Monday was HOT. After laundry and jobs, we went to the pond for awhile. No pictures, but fun to have Laura, Luke, & Lane join us for awhile.
Tuesday was HOT. After laundry and jobs, we went to a friend’s pool for awhile. That evening we had a few guests – this adorable one in particular was absolutely precious chowing down sweetcorn. That’s his fifth half-ear of corn!
And that brings us to Wednesday - - - another HOT day, but that’s another post…
