We had a light rain all afternoon, and heavy rain started around 3:30; this picture was taken at 3:45.

4:20 – rain over, beautiful sky.
Dad came home early; around 4:30 he took a carload for a drive around the block. To the left, muddy water is pouring in from the tile. (Px from his iPhone)
I’ve never seen this waterfall before. This is looking east from by the red shed; Grandpa’s white shed and our swingset are visible to the right.
Heading north. I realize these px might be redundant for most of you, but for our family (and other Kaisers too, maybe!) they are all interesting so I’m posting them all!
Grandpa’s Seventy (north of the levee).
Continuing around the block. I’ve heard of this happening but never seen it, so I’m glad Dad got px. This is the corner of South Fourth Street and Broadway south of Morton.

When Dad got home, I went for a drive. Water across the road; one of the kids thought it looked like a fine waterslide right down the ditch. I didn’t get a picture of the entire stream.
Storm moving east.
Then a 4wheeler trek with Jacob (he was too wet to have the camera):
He wanted to see the whirlpool without the stray beach ball in it. No danger: steel bars cover the tile.
The 2 foot tile was completely full as water poured into the overflow then to the creek (Indian Creek)(also called Deer Creek).

A little(?) dryer now, Jacob took my camera to get some px of the creek out of its banks. First time I’ve seen that.

Total rain for the afternoon was about 1” even though it seemed like a lot more because the ground was completely saturated from the 5” we’ve had since last Saturday. Every once in a while one of our clever kids has to comment that the drought is over. I guess!!!
