TYG Brothers’ Supper

Tori & Kate headed up the Brothers’ Appreciation Supper this year, and they had some fun ideas and a great crew of girls to help them with the evening. Brothers waited at the house for their taxis.

The strong wind blew most boats to the east edge of the pond while the boys ate.

When Tori brought the desserts down, there was a rush for the beach.

Love these girls and their smiles.

Original plan was to sing and have the Bible lesson on the beach benches, but since everyone kind of landed on the telephone poles after supper, we just stayed there.

Absolutely beautiful evening. No wind, no heat, no humidity, no bugs.

Following the theme of eating by the lake, Dave spoke on several of Jesus’s parables. I especially appreciated his point that, in the parable of the sower, the good ground was never claimed to be empty of weeds and stones. We were encouraged to cultivate our good ground, getting rid of weeds and stones, so it can bring forth good fruit. Excellent message for young people and parents alike (at least this parent).

It was pretty cool by then, so they didn’t waste much time getting back to the house to change.

At this point Dad & I took littles back to house. Not sure how long the young people enjoyed the evening, but judging by the smiles it was a while yet.
