Warning: long post ahead
Saturday 8.1
Josh did a great job.
Sunday 8.2
Wednesday 8.5
Rain predicted which we never got but you never know so we stayed home.
Saturday 8.8
Sunday 8.9
Dad and I are rather done with the heat and mess of the apples... time for the next generation to step up. So, after supper this crew cleaned up the orchard and picked a few trees clean and is planning a cider evening soon.
Monday 8.10
Silly felines can have any patio cushion they want; but no, they want Brandi's crate. And she tolerates them!
Tuesday 8.11
Coreena and I helped Sarah unpack and put away awhile. Teddy didn't help much but sure upped the cuteness factor. He almost wants to smile... his facial expressions are precious.
As I take the horses out to pasture in the morning, I notice the orchard has very few drops and I. am. so. grateful. that one, the apples aren't going to waste and two, that I don't have to take care of them this year.
Tuesday evening -
💗💙😺
This crew kept busy while their moms finished up the canning.
photo cred: Echo. thanks!
😋
And I'm happy to report that all jars sealed nicely😊
Wednesday 8.12
Another Lake Day with rain in the forecast so it was a lunch day here instead. We've had quite a few of those this summer. It's been odd. Actually we've only been to the lake maybe half of our Wednesdays. Such is life.
Beautiful but ominous morning.
And then, indeed, it rained.
Post-rain
Thursday 8.13
Sweet helper while I cleaned out the van.
And then - another ominous sky -
and another fierce thunderstorm - this one knocked out power and a couple bushels of apples😟
And that's enough for one time. Thanks for reading.
