Nuggets Along the Trail: 8-7-15 Sunday

Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

8-7-15 Sunday

It’s been a busy week here at the Kaiser homeplace. Peaches and apples and meetings and phone calls and laundry and meals, and, well, other stuff that just all make up life. You know what I mean? Nothing spectacular, just the daily happenings that all add up to make time fly. And this blog is near the bottom of the list. But it’s happening now. Barring interruptions, that is!!

Back to Sunday – what an absolutely wonderful day of rejoicing. God is so good! A few px of that so-special day. Singing before church – always a blessing but even more so with a few more young voices to help.

Church was a double blessing. Or triple. If there is such a thing. Well on a routine Sunday it’s a blessing to worship with our church family, knowing there are some in other countries who face persecution and even death for doing what we did: worship together. That’s a gift to be treasured. And then certainly the day was extra-special because Levi & Echo were announced after the morning service. Lastly, Tabitha’s baptism after regular services was cause for great rejoicing. What a blessed day!

So after church we all headed to the fellowship hall for an engagement photo – well I could hardly believe all these people that went along.

And then – well - there’s that crowd again!

Mom-isms

When you've got a lot of irons in the fire, sometimes you're gonna get burnt.
