July 2026
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Busy Days

Monday we were blessed with .7" rain.

Picked some peaches. Since there weren't many on our trees, Dad didn't spray; so what's there is pretty far from prime. The bad is very very bad but the good is delicious!

Blessed with more applesauce. Josh did a great job ricing.

That night, Josh and Dad cut tops off onions. Man, they're big this year.

And this beauty.

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time...Ecclesiastes 3:11

Tuesday was Auggie day.

I picked up sweetcorn from Sauders, and Leann came with a few kids to help peel๐Ÿ˜‚ awhile. Thanks, friends!

We took a break when they all left, and then I had started shucking again when these two sweethearts came walking to the backyard.
So cute ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

Kiowa was a great help flattening the bags,

and labeling them with the year:  XX

Ice cream for dessert before this busy family headed home.

Air show at the lake Wednesday!

Cason's balance on the boogie board was impressive.

Thursday was a busy day with four little Bear cubs here.

Friday. Cool and cloudy turned lake day with cousins into play day around the farm.

๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

The rest of the peach crop. Similar to first picking: not great, not abundant, but delicious anyways!

One of the best. We can always hope for a nice harvest of these next year!

And that's it!
