Nuggets Along the Trail: Another Last Skate

Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Another Last Skate

…for awhile anyway.

So we got chores done Saturday afternoon when we got done in Peoria, and kids hit the ice again. Ice was perfect which made for great skating. Which they did until it was time to leave for the FH where we were blessed by the testimony of Rob Parker from IN. Powerful story of how God brought him from drugs and brokenness to peace and salvation through Jesus. Rob encouraged us as a church body to continue to reach out of our comfort zone and help others like him; he also gave helpful suggestions of how to do that.

Still enjoy singing before church when we’re not running late.

Chores after church.

Teach ‘em young.

And a few skaters again – look at the garden though. It was a muddy mess. Not sure how the ice was, but kids were out until supper so it must’ve been okay.

Fun to have Ceci again last night. Wish we knew her language – her precious jabberings are full of knowledge I’m quite sure.

Mom-isms
