Kaiser Weekend Day

Saturday, August 4, we went to Mike & Carmen’s for our annual Kaiser get together, hosted by U. Jerry & A. Marcia. I don’t yet have the px taken by the professional photographer but will post a few of those when they are available. Meanwhile, here are a few I took and a few that Carmen took. I know not which is which, but hopefully they are mostly in order. I think. It was another special day with family that went by way too fast. Thanks so much U. Jerry & A. Marcia and Mike & Carmen and Grandpa & Grandma for the wonderful day and memories. We are blessed.

Jacob and Jewel were matching so they decided to get a gangster picture. They're both struggling to keep a straight face.

Jesse led devotions after breakfast. He compared grace to a lever to demonstrate how grace, like the lever, enables us to do things that we are unable to do on our own.

After devotions, we did a game. Each table got a box full of popsicle sticks, little wooden cubes, and little plastic cups. Using those things you had to build a tower. There were different goals that you could try for also. There was the highest tower goal, the most creative goal, use up the most pieces goal, and a few others. My team won the highest tower goal.

The slip’n’slide was one of the major hits of the day. You could go so fast on it (it also helped when you doused the slide with dish soup).

Pool fun. You can’t see it, but in the middle of that mess was a football which everybody was fighting over. We were playing keep away, and it was Jacob, Lance, and Creighton against everybody else. There were several pileups like this one, only sometimes even bigger.

Lucy, Tori, and Brandy watched from the “safety” at the side of the pool. If Jake and Lance were blocking our other teammates, the ball would go to the girls until we were clear again.

This was the whole crowd. The game lasted for about an hour until Jake and Lance got tired of being on the losing team.

There was a bags tournament again this year.

This little cutie was pretty pleased with her princess crown.

The cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones were back again this year. They were a huge hit.

Wes, Lola, Kiowa, and Anya. Lola was so pleased that Levi let her help Kiowa go down.

Young people weren't the only ones doing the slip’n’slide.

Everybody had snacked all day so everyone was hungry for pizza at supper time. After supper (which by the way was awesome), we played volleyball for awhile.

The bounce house was also a big hit.

Brett just went ahead and got on.

This was a small game of basketball. You can see that Jake just threw the ball. The ball is hard to see against the trees but it’s above and to the left of Shemar.

Brooks had fun dumping out and playing in the chalk. At one point he was sitting in the middle of the pile. He might’ve tasted a few too.

The bounce house got a little more wild once Samuel, Jewel, Kinsey, and I got on.

Dad and the big kids left a little earlier than Mom and us little kids because there was hay that was ready to pick up, so they left and did that.

So over all, it was a really good day of making memories, hanging out with cousins, and goofing off. That's all for this post, but stay tuned because there will be another post with the pictures from the professional photographer who was there all day.
