Work Night

Friday afternoon Levi dropped off some telephone poles for the next lake improvement project -

and Friday night was a work night at home. Kids raced through the job lists so they could get down to the lake to work on said project before it got dark -

but darkness didn’t dampen their enthusiasm one iota. Josh is in the hole,

then Kate.

Saturday afternoon Jesse went riding with a few buddies. Any guesses as to who it was?

Work like crazy then crash awhile. Doesn’t that look cozy? Guess who.

Since it’s kitten season I better add a few px now and then .

More Lake Daze

On Wednesday, Jenna, Laurie, and Echo came ready for the lake, but with cool clouds we decided to save the lake for another day.

These five weren’t going for that though and decided to build their own lake.

Good thing God made dirt not to hurt!

Thursday was another cool cloudy day; but kids had a good time anyway.

They had fun swimming with Beth & Olivia.

Rainbow Fruit Salad With Honey Lime Dressing

This past weekend I was blessed to attend a bridal shower for my cousin Dale’s daughter Natalie. Natalie’s Aunt Jen made this fabulous fruit salad for which I promptly requested the recipe. My family loved it too, so I’m glad to report that I’m going to have get to make it quite often .

1 pound fresh strawberries, quartered

4 kiwis, peeled and diced

2 mangoes, diced

2 bananas, sliced

12 ounces fresh blueberries

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon lime juice

Place sliced fruits in a large salad bowl. In a small bowl mix honey and lime juice. Pour syrup over the fruit and mix. Enjoy!

*I did 2 pounds of strawberries and blueberries and also added some halved grapes and diced apples. All told, I made about 6# of diced fruit with 3 T honey and 1 1/2 T lime juice which served our family of 12 well with a nice amount left which made a delightful bedtime snack.

*hint – prepare fruit and dressing ahead of time; right before serving, add dressing and mix all.
