March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

May End

First a few flashbacks from Sarah, taken early May.

These two are buds💞

And back to last week -

Since Josh has been working on a neighboring turkey farm and cannot do chicken chores because of the risk of disease contamination, the chickens are being re-homed. I'm not sorry. It's been a good 20+? year run but all good things must eventually end. Levi got a bunch on Monday evening. These guys did great!

Tuesday 5.28

There has been so much going on lately but I don't remember unless I have pictures. This picture means I picked strawberries again. And they were delicious bc they disappeared in a hurry.

Wednesday 5.29
Cool morning for a walk...

but so pretty that we did lake anyway.

Great helpers picked up thinned apples.

More energy bars I think.

Kids didn't seem to mind that it was cooler.

Oh yes. The eyes have it.

Thursday 5.30

This was my last Thursday in Kaitlyn's classroom. It was a hot hot sunny day which was perfect for the planned Fun Day. Her students had a great time and I enjoyed meeting some of their parents. This was my highlight - watching kids play under this water park - the bucket up top really filled up and then dumped. Kids loved it!

Fun Day schedule for Kaiser (Baer). The name transition has been a challenge for some lol. Oh - and the Kona Ice was another highlight.

Bubble machine - another highlight.

(just in case you're looking for summer fun ideas for kids... 😊)

Aanddd - Happy Birthday Sarah!!

Friday 5.31

Beautiful day.

These kids were on a hunting expedition.

They were hauling in some massive brontosauruses.

And that's a wrap for May 2024. Blink and it's done!
