March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Life Beyond The Pictures - October 2023

 Hello Steiners from the Kaisers.

Time keeps marching on and now it's October and harvest is in full swing and so is school. We've enjoyed these cooler days. I love summer while it's here but around this time of year I'm glad to see it go. Bring on the cool days and wiener roasts!  Kids keep doing their jobs and school. Tim & I keep doing our jobs and learning as we go. I have only a couple of real newsy events to share this time around. First event was that Ben&Coreena moved out of Chestnut Place into their new home on Washington Street. For those who remember, they moved a few houses down from where U.Dan's used to live. To be precise, it was Nancy Koch's home years ago. Some of you may remember ACYF and TYG events held there; in addition, it was featured in the locally produced 1987 film "Lifesavers". It's a lovely first home for them and we're glad to see them settled in before the snow flies. Our only other update is that Jesse&Lucy shared some exciting news with us this past weekend: Travis is going to be a big brother in April! Other than that, not much has changed. Josh has passed up Jewel in height to his great pleasure and starts drivers ed in January. The Last Time. I'm quite sure I'll survive but I'll admit I don't look forward to it. That's about all I know for now. Take care y'all and enjoy fall!
