March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Kids & Critters

Monday June 20. Josh woke up with fever so didn't walk pumpkins. Jewel went to Echo's for the morning. I did laundry.

Kaitlyn brought four Aberles to see the puppies and then they swam at the pond awhile. I got few px, shame on me.

Josh felt better after awhile, and then Annie helped him with a few jobs;

then ASK took him to fish at the Mackinaw River. I think he had a good time even though he wasn't feeling 100% yet.

Meanwhile, back home -

Tuesday June 21. I have no idea what happened that day except JJ walked beans in the morning, then Jewel went to work at 360. I suppose I sat on my patio and sipped raspberry iced tea all day ha.
Now I remember: it was another scorch day - 97degrees. I still don't remember what I did, but pretty sure I stuck close to home bc puppies' AC was on and I don't like to leave them unattended when it's so deadly hot.
Oh, I do remember more: I made haystacks and did other supper prep bc U. Jeff, ASK, and Grandma Steiner joined us. No idea why I got no px of the evening, but after supper BSJ sang with tyg at Wingate and then had a crowd here afterwards for ice cream. I was wiped out tired and didn't fellowship much. Sounded like the kids had a nice time though and I'm glad they can bless others in this way.

Wednesday morning walk. Our horses are so pretty.

As was Dave's Lake.

Three littles spent the morning here,

and then ASK went with us to the lake.

Fun lake crowd.

Josh caught a pretty painted turtle.

Evening crowd at Levi's.

😮

Find a sleeping Josh, ha.

5:00 mornings catch up with him, but he's doing great!
