March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

11-14-10 Sunday

We got the phone call this morning that Nancy Koch passed away. What a blessing for her, but oh, the hole in the lives of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Be near them, O Lord, through this season of pain and change; let them feel thy comfort and peace as they travel this valley. Grow them stronger and draw each one of them closer to thee.

Another beautiful day of freedom to worship in public. We heard much from the word about salvation through Jesus’ blood, forgiveness from the Lord, waiting for the Lord, and hoping in the Lord. We also read in Joshua 14 – verse 12 is highlighted in my Bible already; it is Caleb’s words to Joshua concerning the land that Moses promised him because he had wholly followed the Lord my God (verse 9).  He charged Joshua, Now therefore give me this mountain. Joshua gave Caleb that land, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel (verse 14). Few words, but powerful.  Let’s crave that kind of faith, first to wholly follow the Lord my God, and second to claim the promises of scripture.

Home to get ready for supper company…

AGAIN??? What is the deal??? Well, like I said yesterday, we  don’t usually have so much on in one weekend, but that’s just the way it worked out this time. Some of it is that we have a busy calendar, and so do others; so if we want to fellowship with them, we take them when they can come. And really, every evening this weekend was so very blessed; we enjoyed it all and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Anyway.

We had a wonderful time with Matt & Dana; kids were just as loud as other evening which means they had a good time too! We’re so thankful for the blessing of like-minded Christian friends and fellowship. God has blessed us richly.
