Levi and Jesse milked like usual. Levi took me, Sarah, and Ben up to Mike’s Garage to get the van before he went on to CIT…but I forgot to get my Bosch mixer out of his trunk before he left! So I had to truck all the way down to CIT to get that so I could send it to Utah for repairs. Got that done, and hit a few garage sales before getting home a little before noon. Had a little rain there somewhere too. Did a quick turn around, hoping to beat the forecasted thunderstorms, and took Jewel and Jesse with me this time. I dropped Jesse off at Hobby Lobby, where he got some materials for working on their insect collection, and Jewel and I went on to Bergner’s where we got some nice towels which we’ll make into hooded bath towels for baby gifts. We got our errand done, Jesse got his done, and we headed to WalMart. Jesse stayed with Jewel in the van while I ran in and got LOTS of food. Then we headed home; kids unloaded the van while I took a walk with Karol. And it NEVER rained, no, not a drop! More to do, including reading with 2 little girls and a consequent cat nap when gravity hit my eyelids (I did get through 8 books before I got sleepy). After a ten minute snooze, I was back at it, refreshed and ready to tackle life again. Things to order, phone calls to make, supper to plan, things to organize, etc. etc. I’m finally feeling like I’m getting close to being caught up with household things; I actually spent some time in the schoolroom getting new books out and ready for next year. Since July is blueberries, green beans, applesauce, peaches, etc., I usually try to use June to get ready for school in August. Have I mentioned that I love it????? I love everything about it, from leafing through new textbooks to buying lots of paper and pencils to choosing which workbook each younger student will be using each year to the look of delight “I get it” when one of the kids gets something that they have struggled with. Not to mention the hours and hours of building relationships and enjoying the massive blessing of a houseful of kids. Okay, sometimes I do long for some peace and quiet, but that’s why my walks are so important to me…not only for the physical exercise I get but also the peace and quiet. Anyway. I’m rambling. Supper prep. Supper. Walk with Dad while kids did dishes. Then kids did lots of Catch which eventually turned into Move Up, and I even got to play. A few 4 wheeler rides. Dirt bike rides. Baths and beds. Oops-forgot. I gave Dad a haircut during all the baths. THEN Bibletime, and then, finally, beds.
Sometimes after Bibletime Dad does this…
Ours too! :)
