Psalm 65:13 – The pastures are clothed with flocks: the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
A lovely porch morning. As I sit here in awe of the beauty before me, I can’t help feeling a bit sorry for people who choose to not focus on the blessings of life. We have so many freedoms, blessings, privileges, nuggets along the trail; there are so many things for which to be thankful. I know there are rainy days and difficult valleys through which to travel also, but even on the worst days, in the worst situations, during the most difficult trials we can ever imagine, there are blessings that cannot be overlooked, gifts from God for which He wants to be praised. We must CHOOSE to find them and rejoice in them; we must PURPOSE to focus on the sunshine even if we can’t see it for the clouds. Peace, hope, grace, mercy, joy, love, faith, God’s word, freedom, a wonderful country, material blessings, and ABOVE ALL the blood of Jesus which was shed on Calvary for our sins, Hallelujah!
Another calm routine day, yet we got so much done. Levi took Jesse to Uncle Randy’s early, then went to do a few errands before going to CIT. Jacob did some roto-tilling, and the girls did lots of typing. I spent most of my morning cutting out pieces for a few new skirts for Sarah and Jewel.
Aunt Sarah brought out these friendly bars:
Oh, wait, I guess Tori has a birthday coming up.
After lunch we swam at Uncle Jerry’s for awhile, and then came home for naps, chores, snacks, story time, supper prep, and supper. Not too exciting, but that’s just how we like it. Grandpa and Grandma Steiner brought us another squirrel after supper – I think this is the fifth one. Dad and I went on a walk after dishes were done, and then we did 500 and catch. The unique thing about our 500 is that no one cares about the points. The kids just like to catch the balls that Dad (or I) hit. Pretty fun, although my blistered hands are not. Guess I hit a few too many…but it was so fun I didn’t want to quit. Dad did some four-wheeler rides, and I did more wagon rides too.
Inside for Bibletime; we sang a little and read about the wall of Jerusalem being destroyed. We ended way off the subject but as always enjoyed our time together.
Tori took some pictures of four-week old pheasants.
That’s all.
