March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

10-8-10 Running

Lovely routine Friday of cleaning jobs, spelling/point meetings, and running around (well that part wasn’t that lovely but it had to be done and got done so it’s good).  Also sold our first pheasants in the morning. The kids finally got the van washed; after Yellowstone’s dirt road to our cabin it was pretty bad.  Finally the kids can brush by it in the garage without picking up dirt. Levi and Jesse milked in the morning, and Levi went to Precision at noon. He and I took the flat trailer to get the brakes fixed at Rawlings’ Trailer, and Dad took him to pick it up after work. I then took Levi to Precision before supper to get his car. Also did errands in Morton with Sarah and Jewel which culminated in Papa Murphy’s. After supper Dad and I walked while kids played on haybales, and then we just had a good time enjoying the beautiful evening. Haybales, bikes, Kick the Can (I even played some), a trek to see the neighbors’ bonfire a few miles away, and a wild game of soccer finished up the evening.

Can you tell Joshua really likes spaghetti?
