March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Happy Birthday Dad

Last Friday was a whirlwind. First I took Josh to A. Sarah's to do some garage sale-ing with her at the townwide garage sales. There were only 82 or so sales going on so they had a lot to do. I visited AB for awhile, then met Echo at ASarah's and picked up two little boys who preferred Grandma's house over garage sale-ing. Lucy then brought two more little boys and headed to town to do some garage sale-ing too. In case you lost count, that was four little boys with noone here but me (Sarah was at Tessa's & Jewel was working at 360). I wasn't sure how it was all going to go, but turns out Kaitlyn was able to stop in awhile, and Sarah brought her little charges over also; so I never really got to see how I could handle four little boys under the age of four! But man that's a lot of cuteness that's for sure. It was really nice out so we spent quite a lot of time outdoors.

Travis, aka Patty, aka Bis-bis, loved it. He spent most of his time watching Brandi or the others on the trampoline.

(And isn't his hair just the cutest ever?)

Always time for a 4w ride.

Travis was perfectly agreeable to let Ellis hold him - she was wearing a cool toy, after all.

SO THANKFUL FOR THIS TRAMPOLINE. There's a lot of energy that gets burned on that thing.

😍

A field trip to the shed to see Popsy's tractor.

All six -

Four under four.

Jason can spend hours in the sandbox!

After Tessa and Echo left, Jason & Travis played inside & kept busy being pretty stinkin' cute,

until Jeff came to dump some dirt. Ben was home from work already so got to give Jason a close-up view. Which Jason didn't necessarily appreciate. That truck so close made him a little nervous. When ASarah brought Josh home, Jason was more than happy to go to her.

When Jason napped, Travis got to be an only grandkid for awhile.

He was so pleased to stand by the picture window!

The mower entertained him for quite awhile, as did its operator.

Everyone came for Dad's bd supper then (except Ben who had gone to Elgin for the w/e and Sarah who was babysitting); after supper was of course more 4w time.

A few songs.

A few gifts.

A little excitement😲😅

And a whole lot of love.

We are blessed.
