I have decided that 4-H means heat, heat, heat, and heat. Today was SOOOOO HOT, and rather than cool down in the evening, I think the slight breeze that we could feel during the day died down and it seemed even hotter. I remember very few cool 4-H fairs, but this one was one of the hottest we could remember.
Anyway. First thing I took our desktop computer to town for Haas IT to work on; an hour later I went back to pick it up. Home to laundry, garden, first day of working with tomatoes: Tori and Ben cut them up for the freezer. When we have a large amount frozen, we’ll do spaghetti sauce factory day.
I worked on school prep and got another nice big chunk done. Little by little, I’m getting close. Since we’re taking a week off in September for Yellowstone, we’re hoping to start school Monday. Every year I’m pretty excited about it; this year is no different…still lovin’ it after 11 years, and the kids like it too. Aaah, life is good. Levi and Jesse milked in the morning; then Levi went to CIT. Jesse worked around here; then we all went swimming at Uncle Jerry’s after lunch. Had fun being with Carmen, Kate, and Lincoln, as always. Wish we could get there earlier to swim longer with them – with Joshua still taking a morning nap it hasn’t worked out much though. Home to chores, supper prep, more school prep. Supper, and all to the hot hot hot hot fair. Home to enjoy our air conditioning and put kids to bed. Met with Levi and Jesse; then Dad and I took the van to Mike’s Garage for some a.c. repair work. Home to beds finally; that’s it.
