Enjoyed a beautiful early morning walk with Dad – and a beautiful sunrise.
Boys milked, but since Sauders are gone with some of the show cows, Jesse stayed all day to power spray the show barn; Levi went to CIT like normal. We got a big chunk of school started, with routines, schedules, expectations, etc. established for the younger ones. I did a lot of talking, teaching, explaining, and answering questions as well as disciplining, correcting, and rebuking. End result being my throat was strained which led to a headache – I’m glad I have the appointment made at the dr. to see if there’s anything to be done. While I was doing many school meetings, Tori was leading the rest of the crew at many other jobs. I truly don’t know what I would do without her. Jacob too is a staple at keeping things running smoothly around here, mainly the outside operations.
Anyway, naps, chores, supper, and then Dad and I took the van to Mike’s Garage AGAIN to get some things checked out – small issues we’ve been having but don’t want to have to deal with en route to Montana. Kids played on haybales again – another beautiful cool day and evening. When we got home the boys were just getting home from milking – after they ate and showered, we did Bibletime and beds.
A few nuggets – Kate had an avid audience while she made pancakes for breakfast.
Sweet helper.
Jacob finally got a picture of this hummingbird that lives nearby…we see him quite regularly.
FINALLY get to use my dehydrator again! Dad surprised me with it for Christmas a couple of years ago, but last year we had very few apples so didn’t use it at all. And we do love dried apples…especially on hikes and for travel snacks. Great timing!
The apple peeler/corer/slicer gets a lot of use this time of year; it’s so very handy.
Joshua was pretty intent on giving Jewel’s baby its pacifier.
That’s it.
