11-29-12 Ted Goes Camping (Conclusion)
by Ben
It was a very scary time. How could they get out?
“Well,” said Ned, “I think we should try to move some of these smaller rocks.”
“Yes,” Ted said. They began moving some of the rocks that weren’t too big. Soon, after about an hour, there was a hole. They tried to squeeze through, but it just wasn’t big enough. Everyone began to think but nobody could think of a way to get out. They they heard a noise. It sounded like a deer. Fred peeked out the little hole. It was a deer. Then Ed said, “I feel really dumb. I have a cell phone.”
“It won’t work,” Fred said.
“Why not?”
“Because we are in the mountains.”
The boys decided to have lunch. They only had one bottle of water though. The hiking trail was only 3/4 of a mile away from the cave, so they decided to call for help.
“Help! Help!” they called.
Someone heard them and tried to move the rocks, but they were just too big. He had some strong men come and help to move the big rocks. Meanwhile, Ted and his friends had a flashlight and were reading books. Soon the rocks were moved away, and they lived happily ever after.

11-27-12 Ted Goes Camping
by Benjamin
One day Ted and his three friends (Ed, Ned, and Fred) decided to go camping out in the woods. There were going to stay for a week. The first day went by quick, and the second day went by quick. On the third day things started to happen. They were hiking along a trail when they heard a rumble.
“It’s a landslide!” Ed screamed.
They all hid in a rock cave. They heard the rocks getting closer. They were scared! They saw the rocks tumble down in front of them. Then, the opening got blocked off! Everything was quiet. It was pitch black in the cave.
What would happen next!?!

11-26-12 Are You Including Jesus?
Are you including Jesus in your Christmas plans this year,
Or will He be forgotten when His special day is here?
Are you including Jesus on the gift list you will make,
Or will He be forgotten in this game of give & take?
Are you including Jesus in the music you will play,
Or will He be forgotten in the modern songs of today?
Are you including Jesus in the Christmas cards you send,
Or will He be forgotten just because you might offend?
Are you including Jesus in the things you will do,
Or will He be forgotten by the family & you?
Are you including Jesus on your guest list for Christmas Day,
Or will He be forgotten & again be turned away?
Won’t you try including Jesus in everything you do?
Remember when He died to save … Jesus included you.

11-23-12 Thanksgiving Day
by Tori
This year we had Uncle Dave’s, Aunt Sarah, and Grandpa and Grandma for Thanksgiving Dinner. Wednesday was spent cooking and carving two turkeys, mashing potatoes, cleaning, school for some, and, since Dad was home in the morning, he and the boys worked on the siding. After church Thanksgiving Day morning, we had dinner and then spent the afternoon outside playing football or 500, riding the horses, exploring the south grove and lake, or sleeping.
One day this week the kids spent a lot of time in the sandbox. I think this is Jewel’s creation.
Cutting celery.
The boys and Dad spent Wednesday morning putting up siding. It started out really foggy.
Sarah, Jewel, and Josh love it when Levi is around more because he plays with them and lets them tag along and help while he works. This is the Alle–t-rex-stegasaurus that they all helped draw.
Thanksgiving Day football game.
And some horseback rides for the girls. (Actually Aaron and Silas rode too; there are just no pictures of them.)
Time for a trip to the south grove.
Checking out Dave’s lake.
Burning energy.
Levi spent the whole afternoon catching up on sleep.
Aunt Sarah played Whitewater Chopsticks for us, and that’s a piece I’m definitely going to learn as soon as I get music.
Hanging siding first thing this morning (note the coats, hats, and gloves; the temp dropped about 25 degrees overnight).
Ron came to help around the curved windows.
They had to quit because they ran out of j-channel (whatever that is).
Finished front looks great!
Putting away the workbench.

11-22-12 Happy Thanksgiving
“They began now to gather in the small harvest they had, and to fit up their houses and dwellings against winter, being all well recovered in health and strength and had all things in good plenty. For as some were thus employed in affairs abroad, others were exercised in fishing, about cod and bass and other fish of which they took good store, of which every family had their portion. All the summer there was no want; and now began to come in store of fowl, as winter approached, of which is place did abound when they came first (but afterward decreased by degrees). And besides waterfowl there was great store of wild turkeys, of which they took many, besides venison, etc. Besides, they had about a peck a meal a week to a person, or now since harvest, Indian corn to that proportion. Which made many afterwards write so largely of their plenty here to their friends in England, which were not feigned but true reports.”
William Bradford, Of Plymouth Plantation: S.E. Morison, ed. Knopf. N.Y., 1952. p 90

Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

11-20-12 Weekend Report
By Kate
Friday night Nate and Sandi came for supper and the evening. Saturday we started putting up the shake siding on the house. Dad, Jesse, Jacob, and Ben started it. Then Jesse left to help Brett on his house. Then I went out and helped. It was crazy hard siding to put up and we only got a little section done. We worked on some pieces for ten minutes or more.
Do you think we have enough legos?
I think the kids are ready for snow!
Saturday’s project was putting up siding.
Mom and us kids picked up trash.
The horses were curious as could be when we came near the house.
Beautiful day.
This is the only section we got done. Dad was only hoping to get that little hang-out done anyway.
Sunday we had Bruce and Elizabeth and John and Misty for supper (yes we just had John and Misty but we had so much fun we invited them back).
Yesterday Josh helped me lay out bread for stuffing on Thursday.
THE END.
