March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

11-7-15 Back to Normal

By Tori

Life is finally back to normal here. No more wedding plans and the ensuing stress. This is mainly going to be a picture post as I don’t know everything that goes on around the house these days. I do know that by 6:00 last Sunday night we were all in PJ’s and the house was dark by 9:30, with the exception of me because I stayed up until 12:00 waiting for college enrollment to open. The rest of the week was pretty much normal; people went to work and school, or stayed home and did school.

On to the pictures -

Decorations from the reception – put the flowers in colored water, and see what happens.

Friday the Sauder kids were at our house again & although I have no idea what went on from 8-5:30, from the looks of the pictures everyone seemed to have fun.

Afternoon horse rides.

A trip to the pond which resulted in 104 captured toads. The reason for this has not yet been revealed to those of us who were not on this excursion. Anytime I asked, the answer was “because.” I don’t think there was any reason besides that it was something to do because they let them all go after supper.

Before the boys started their campout, we played a crazy game of kick-the-can. By the time we headed in at 10:30, everyone was exhausted. Everyone settled down pretty quick once they were in bed, except Jake, Ben, & Wes who camped out & didn’t settle in till around midnight.
