March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

4-8-15 A Boy & His Cat

Monday afternoon Jewel took these pictures of Josh while I rode horses with Kate. Josh was sorting through the gravel, picking out a certain size to save.

When I got back from riding, Josh was still sorting!

No pictures from yesterday – I think it was gray & rainy but can’t really remember. Oh yes. It was foggy. Very foggy. And gray after the fog dissipated. And we heard about the tragic plane crash in Bloomington that claimed the lives of seven men. While we don’t know the men, we can and will still lift up their families to God in prayer, and we know that He will comfort them and be their strength as they deal with shock and grief.

Last night we had a whopper of a thunderstorm. Non-stop lightening, thunder, hail, the works. Everyone upstairs woke up, and some downstairs too. Lots of water around this morning – our rain gauge had about an inch. Thankful for that as we’ve been dry.

Today we had more rain and then the SUN CAME OUT. Ohh it was so nice to see. And feel.

Aunt Sarah stopped by with Jewel’s birthday bars. Happy 6th birthday, Jewel!

That’s better Smile.

And now we’re supposed to get another gully-washer of a storm tonight, and rain all day tomorrow, but who knows?! What will be will be, and we’ll be thankful with whatever the Weatherman sends our way, whether sunshine or rain or a little bit of both.

Meanwhile, it’s late, so

goodnight.
