March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

4-6-15 New Driver

by Kaitlyn

Friday night after the Good Friday church service we went to Leann's and picked up Wesley, Whitley, and Lainey. Unfortunately Lexi wasn’t feeling well so she couldn’t come this time.

Friday was also my birthday, so we had Chocolate Trifle after church. It was kind of a cute idea to get a pic of all the kids but getting ten extremely wound up kids to pose nice is almost impossible…….Levi and Tori think something is really funny, Lainey looks scared, Whitley’s laying in my lap, Jake is just being normal, Wes is being ornery, Ben, Jewel, and I aren’t looking, Josh is looking over his glasses…..yes it was pretty chaotic for a little bit there!

Saturday after breakfast almost everyone went outside.

It was pretty cold out, so Lainey & Whitley didn’t last long.

Jacob took all our little kids and Wesley down to the little creek and made a dam.

The rest of us cleaned up the fences in the bottom pasture.

Sarah learned to drive the four wheeler.

Don’t ask me why a squirrel would want to make a nest in  a Black Locust tree. Some thorns are close to 6 inches long. Rumors say they can pop a tractor tire.
