March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

4-18-15 Sauder Thursday

by Kate

Wednesday night after church we went to Leann’s to pick up her kids. We kept them until Saturday morning when their A. Cindy came and picked them up. We had so much fun with them! (as usual)

Lainey got to hang out with us during the day while the others were at school. It’s pretty calm until the others get home from school and Jake gets home from work.

The mixer is so loud!

Washing dishes with really full sinks is the best.

A couple weeks ago a girly pink Dora bike got turned into a really cool black and blue bike for Josh (who does not care for pink). It only took a few short minutes with the spray paint to have the job done.

Lainey of course is never lacking attention.

I think Lainey is supposed to be settling down for a nap in this picture.

I made some s’mores bars.

Thursday evening Jacob took us on a hayrack ride while Dad, Mom, Levi, Jesse, and Ben went up to Levi's house to plant grass.

Jake was a great tour guide and gave some great speeches. He also played his guitar (shovel) for us.

Jesse came down on the big four wheeler, so we hooked up the four wheeler to the hayrack and Jesse took home the mower (which was getting low on gas).

Great thing about a hayrack is that there is plenty of room for everyone!
