March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

5-13-12 Happy Mother’s Day

Yes this beautiful Mother’s Day started out with a gorgeous sunrise. A gift straight from God.

Another gift – time to sing a few songs before church. We haven’t been playing much lately so this was a treat.

Another gift, both favorites.  My kids know me well :).

And yet another gift – Jacob planted these butterfly bushes in the garden for me yesterday. Love them! And love it that he did it!

Today we enjoyed a very blessed Sunday in Congerville and then had a wonderful afternoon and evening with Uncle Dave’s. These two little buddies played solid the whole time - - nary a cross word or squeal did we hear from them, and they went 90 mph the whole time. So cute!

After ball we enjoyed A. Sandy’s scrumptious desserts. Tori was on the deck when Abram came out with his dessert. “Where’s Josh? I want to sit by him.” Tori replied, “You like Josh?” Very emphatically, Abram declared, “I LOVE Josh! He’s my buddy!”

We headed home soon after dessert and didn’t get very far before Josh was sound asleep. He did great considering he didn’t get a nap all day, but he was really tired by the time we left. He barely stirred when I carried him in to his bed!
