March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

4-13-12 Week in Review

by Tori

Well, time definitely flies when you’re having fun. This week has just flown by so we must have had a fun week. We enjoyed going to Bloomington’s Sunrise Service for Easter and then being with the Kaisers at Uncle Mike and Aunt Janet’s. Monday evening Levi, Jacob, Kate, Ben, and I went to church cleaning. Tuesday was Jewel’s birthday and we had Grandpa and Grandma K.,Grandma S. (Grandpa left after dropping her off – he wasn’t feeling well), and Aunt Sarah for supper. Wednesday evening we went to church and last night we were home. All this week we have stayed somewhat busy doing some spring cleaning, plus the usual chores. The weather has been decent all week and as the week progressed it got nicer. It’s been getting cool at nights though; I think it froze lightly the last two nights.

These pictures are in order for the most part – this could have been taken any day this week because with 6 kids practicing, the piano is rarely empty in the mornings.

Josh told Aunt Sarah, “It’s a big froggy!” before she even had it open. It is motion-activated so that it croaks; everyone had to check it out.

Reading books.

Playing the shop piano – the toolbox just happened to be sitting there and I didn’t feel like moving it.

(from Mom – I have to admit it’s pretty pleasant to hear her play while we’re outside. I love it!!!!)

Taking a trailer of water to the walnut tree Levi moved to the south grove on Saturday.

Coming home from the south grove – it is so dry right now – I can’t imagine what this summer’s going to be like if it’s already this dry.

So that’s what we’ve been up to all week.
