March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Week

by Jewel

On Monday, Sarah and Beth came over for lunch and brought Ben and Olivia too. After lunch we all went outside, and they really liked the animals.

Wednesday. Cason and Clay and Jovie. There were plenty of little kids, and it was gray and rainy most of the time.

Jovie’s pretty happy most of the time, as you can tell. And adorable.

So is Clay, and he’s also adorable.

Thursday Gloria came over and we all went down to the South Grove. We “repaired” some of the bridges, but I'm not sure they’re going to stay repaired for very long.

Gloria and I also tried to have a three-legged race, but the twine kind of dug into Gloria’s leg because she didn’t have a boot, so we didn’t get real far.

We had to come back from South Grove by about three forty-five because we were watching the Baers at four.

On Friday, Mom went to do errands while we kids stayed home and did Friday jobs. Imagine our surprise when it started snowing! Of course, it didn’t stick, but it was still kind of pretty to watch coming down.

Friday afternoon we babysat Kiowa, and then later Levi & Echo dropped off Flint too. At suppertime then, Levi & Echo and Jesse & Lucy came over for Papa Murphy’s Pizza. It was a fun evening, and after everyone left, we watched a movie that Tori got from the library.
