Saturday dawned a beautiful sunny warm day, and the day only got nicer as it went on.
Minus the three littles Rauhes who A. Carol so graciously offered to babysit, after lunch we went to Henry Ford’s Greenfield Village. A REALLY neat place which we enjoyed thoroughly, especially since the weather was perfect.
We started off at the old farmstead, first touring the house…
then the barn.

Thomas the Tank Engine was there visiting which was fun too.

Again, very interesting. Hard to take it all in!
Eagle Tavern, a working restaurant.
The village closed at 5:00, which happened to be while the tavern keeper was explaining about the tavern/restaurant, so we ended our tour without seeing all the houses & stores – would’ve taken another couple of days to see it all, I’m quite sure. It was a pretty neat place. But I guess I mentioned that already, didn’t I!?

Kids were finally called in at dusk after many rousing games of Capture-the-Flag (which are still being discussed today!).
Time for three songs before church Sunday morning.
And after a really nice day with the Detroit congregation, we headed south again, thankful for another wonderful memory-filled weekend with the Rauhes.
