Nuggets Along the Trail: 9-22-12 Paint Day

Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

9-22-12 Paint Day

Thursday night Dad & the kids put the sealer on the greatroom walls & ceiling.

Which meant that the greatroom was open Friday morning for traffic. And music Smile .

Daddy needed help checking the dishwasher height (in preparation for tile to be laid).

Beautiful sunset Friday evening.

We were so glad A. Sarah came to help us paint Saturday. Thank you ASK!!!!!

Unlike me, A. Sarah enjoys painting. She has a special painting outfit that is quite colorful Smile .

Littles spent time outside, in the basement, and watching us paint. Jewel took this photo of her very nice road!

Taking off baseboard – again, in preparation of tile.

Jacob was the best high painter. He made it look easy, but after I did it, I realized it wasn’t as easy as he made it look…mainly because he’s stronger than me. My arms and neck got tired!

Dad & I went to a wedding reception after supper; the kids enjoyed a fire. Thanks Kate for taking these great px!

Mom-isms

When you've got a lot of irons in the fire, sometimes you're gonna get burnt.
