March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Third Week Of July

Saturday July 16, Ben sent me these px; he and Daniel were busy with Matthew's wedding festivities all day. He cleans up pretty good, imho.

Back home - morning orchard work, and we said good-bye to four more puppies. Or something. I can't remember that far back, but I know by Sunday morning we only had one puppy left: Liberty Bell.

Afternoon lake fun.

Sunday July 17. Jewel and her horse.

Nice day at church, then really nice singing and fellowship at Sauders after supper.

We maybe kind of spoiled Libby just a little bit for the week we had her solo.

Monday July 18. First tomato.

Jewel & Josh went to Echo's and I was left with Libby who was a great help with the laundry.

Evening - to Levi's to see house project progress. Preparing for footings to be poured on Tuesday.

Tuesday July 19. Libby wasn't content in her pen any more.

Josh & I watched the pour with Echo and the kids.

Afternoon soap on the trampoline. It's been a day or two since that's happened.

Wednesday July 20. Josh & I picked up KFJ early and brought them home as Echo had an appointment.

After breakfast I had good help in the garden.

Busy puppy that evening.

Thursday July 21. Morning orchard and garden.

And guess who climbed out of her pen?

There has been talk about getting another puppy...
at some point...

Friday July 22.

Sarah brought T over for awhile.

Boys were all at Father/Son Night, and we had a few girls over for supper.

Ben brought us a patio couch so he could take a lawn chair. Good trade!

😍

And that was that.
