March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Last Week

Monday when I rode horses with Jewel, there wasn't a drop of wind. It was a nice change after the last few windy days; and it was beautiful. This mirror reflection caught Jewel's eye.

We promptly turned around to check out the lake.

Idk if I would know up from down except for the few blades of grass in the bottom left. This was stunning.

Our world is so beautiful and peaceful. God is awesome.

This was Tuesday; these two did a 4w ride. Brandi goes nutso when the 4w is around. Good exercise for her. She gets pretty fat & sassy over winter.

Wednesday visitors on a cloudy windy but warm day. So glad littles like the 4w too. Love this grin!

Removing trampoline debris from the roof.

Made much progress this week wrapping Christmas gifts. I enjoy this.

Yesterday Kaitlyn brought Clay over for awhile. Was so good to have him here again!

Jewel rode after her school & jobs were done.
Ino Dad doesn't understand why I'm obsessed with taking px of kids and horses, but that's ok. Idk that I understand either. Maybe bc I wanted this as a kid and didn't have the opportunity; I love love love seeing my kids and all kids enjoying this blessing of country life.
Plus our horses are so pretty.

A novel way to deliver laundry.

Friday was busy! So busy that I didn't get to go skating with Sarah, Jewel, and Josh... and these two cutests! Glad A. Sarah brought them so they can start to learn to skate. From all reports I got, they did great!

And the smiles indicate that they were having fun, so... hopefully it happens again when I can go 😊

A crowd came for homemade pizza and to hang out awhile; then Dad & I & Lucy took off to get ready for the rehearsal dinner.

And that was the end of that week, blink 😳
