September 2025
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

A Couple of Seconds

Why A Couple of Seconds? Well because way back here was A Couple of Firsts.

And the second time around for both these events was just as good as the first time around. Or better. First event was the Koch Timber Gospel Sing. Beautiful weather, beautiful evening, beautiful singing, beautiful fellowship.

Idk this young man or his son. But his little boy was just pretty stinking cute. Like father, like son.
Mini soapbox time. A dad's example is powerful. The end.

This girl. Attracted to music like a moth to a candle.

Then her little brother joined her. Same attraction.

Then their big brother joined them.
These three ๐Ÿ˜.
I don't know any other kids that are this infatuated with all things music. Good thing they have a good piano teacher ๐Ÿ˜„. Will be fun to see what kind of song God writes for them as they grow up. I know it'll be good.

Thanks again Kochs for a wonderful evening.
We were blessed.

Sunday evening was the Second Annual All-Church Chili Supper. Beautiful weather, beautiful evening, beautiful singing, beautiful fellowship.
And fantastic chili ๐Ÿ˜‹!

Thanks Greg and Rita for this picture (Greg for taking it, Rita for sharing it).
Who can say there's not a God?
(and I quote Rita...)

Thanks again Beutels and Wagenbachs.
We were blessed.
