March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

More Baking Week

by Jewel

I don't know what day this was, but the kids sure were cute! Since Henry was at kindergarten, we only had Jack, Ella, and Clara. Clara was obviously too little to help, but Ella and Jack sure liked it.

This was last Friday night at Jesse and Lucy's. I don't know where the big kids were, but Levi and Echo were there as well so we little kids weren't bored.

We served dinner on Sunday, and so Katie made I don't know how many dozen cupcakes. Although I hate to have to compliment Katie on anything, these actually looked pretty good (don't let it go to your head, Katie).

We had family pictures on Monday night, and then everyone stayed for supper as well. Those who didn't harvest stayed for the evening too. Kiowa was pretty cute making her dad and Flint smile.

I don't know what night this was, but it was a beautiful sunset.

I don't know if this was the same night as the other picture. I honestly don't know if it's a picture of the sunset, horse, or both. Either way it's pretty.

Harvesting is one of my favorite times of the year.

As usual, we had Clay on Wednesday. He was as cute as always.

Getting ready to go outside. What a goof.
