Nuggets Along the Trail: Still More Peaches

Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Still More Peaches

Monday we did peaches in the morning,

and Levi & Echo came to pick some for them that evening.

Kiowa seemed to enjoy her peach.

Platform almost complete.

Tuesday A. Joyce came to help us with more peaches while Josh enjoyed a break from cutting.

Wednesday Echo came to do a bushel which she took home with her. Kiowa was so good!

Thursday morning we did more, and Thursday evening we did a big picking.

Yep – it’s still fun!

This morning I had minimal help with peaches which was fine because I didn’t do many, just the ripe ones from yesterday’s picking. With a crowd of greats here for the day, kids had a blast playing with cousins and helping watch cousins too.

While Brooks took a good nap and I made bars, A. Joyce took this crew on a South Grove trek.

Thank you kids for the beautiful bouquet!

With the high of 74 degrees, we decided our backyard was way better than the lake. Beautiful weather!

Cats got LOTS of attention.

Mom-isms
