March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

3-31-15 Spring Break

So the kids have been wondering when we’re going to have spring break. A couple weeks ago when we had that delightful 76* day, we took a day; when the temp dropped again, we were back at school.  You guessed it – this week (at least until the rain hits), we’re enjoying a few delightful days off again. Kids are still doing their music, and today I did a bit of phonics with Josh, but that was about it. Tomorrow is a chase day (fun fun) but when we get home – another day off. It’s time. Seems like it’s been a long cold spring. A break is good, and we’re enjoying it immensely. We’ve all been outside as much as possible, soaking up the sunshine, saving it for the rainy days which are yet to come. Kids have been working pretty hard at playing, and I’ve been able to think about some next year curriculum planning. The annual APACHE convention is coming up soon so I need to get going on preparation for that. It’s a tough job, all that shopping, you  know, but somebody’s got to do it. Guess it’ll be me this year.

 Smile

Anyway.

Here’s a few px of our spring break so far -

Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
