Well Tori should be happy now because our boring week gained a little activity with strawberries and rain yesterday…although she wasn’t home anyway!!!!! Anyway, here’s some px of our busy and blessed day.
Here we go - - -
Although Jesse and Tori helped a bunch before they left for their respective jobs, my five littlest were my main crew. They did great!
And had fun .
And ate LOTS of berries. After Josh’s third shirt got soaked, he didn’t get another one.
After milking, Jacob went on a flood tour with Grandpa. This is Mud Creek, beside Grandpa’s field on Allentown Road.
[Sorry for the funky colors. Some camera setting was adjusted incorrectly.]
U. Jerry’s house is to the left; Mud Creek to the right. Taken from Allentown Road looking north/northeast.
Looking east from U. Jerry’s driveway.
Indian Creek (forever known to us as U. Harley’s creek)(really, I had to ask Dad the name of it. I didn’t know!), from Allentown Road looking north. Dave & Beth’s house is to the right, the lake is to the left but all that’s visible is the dam. Our south grove visible to the far left.
same view
Dave’s baby fruit trees bear the evidence of how high the creek waters came before they receded to where they are now.
Waterway coming out of Morton which empties into Prairie Creek; looking south toward Tremont from Broadway Road.
?not sure. Grandpa’s Eighty?
same? looking west from our road maybe?
Tile from the Eighty which was put in here.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch - - - -
Done in time to enjoy the break in the rain. Thanks Kate for the px.
Camera back to me.
Back to the kids.
Dad & I did a roundabout flood tour on our way to Menards after supper. This is on Dee-Mack Road, heading south into Mackinaw. The river is in the trees; the road going east, the back way into Heritage Lake, is under water. The cars are spectators just looking at the flooding.
Same road, looking west just having crossed the river.
Looking east.
Looking west.
? can’t remember
Dave’s Lake is almost up to the sand!
Thus ended our not-so-boring day.
Have a great Friday!
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
