This year is our best year with peaches. The last couple of years they have been frozen off.
The whole crop so far. About 15 of the big dark ones are from Nelson Musselman.
The biggest one from our trees.
Another big one from our trees.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Hard to believe but another week is over. This week has just flown by, filled with fun and memories – so many undeserved blessings that are straight from God.
God is good.
God is so good, and He has blessed us so richly, and we love Him and praise Him with our whole being.
For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised…Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Psalm 4:4, 6
We finally got our spinach frozen on Tuesday. Precious little helper!
We’ve been doing pretty good at getting SSR time in. Kate enjoys hers with her rabbit.
Yes, we have baby blueberries :)
Love my men, big and little.
Thursday morning, 5:15, Dad & I were instantly alert, awakened by a very odd sound. We looked at each other, then looked out the window to see our steers happily clomping across the road to our yard. I’m sure they were quite pleased with themselves. We weren’t impressed.
The sunrise, however, was extremely impressive.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork. Psalm 19:1
Josh is into hars* just like everyone else. He likes to use the hick.** Soooo cute!!!
Bibletime seems to be getting later and later. I suppose we like to squeeze as much life from these long summer days as possible. At any rate, it’s nice to have Levi join us for part of our family worship occasionally; Josh is usually napping when Levi is home between CIT and ICC so hasn’t seen him much lately. He had lots to tell him about. You know, important things like his owie.
Last night chicken butchering prep got a little out of hand.
So glad for our trampoline. LOTS of energy expelled on that thing.
Baby peaches. For the record, we thinned them yesterday, too. No we’re not counting our peaches before they’re eaten, but oh, they are looking pretty good, for baby peaches…
No apples on this one at all, so it’s great for climbing.
Baby Red Delicious, complete with hail damage. We’re not complaining, though!
Also thankful for our orchard.
Have I mentioned it was a beautiful evening?
Favorite picture.
Remember last year’s fiasco with the wrong chickens? We did comparison pictures every week to show the disparity between the layers and the meaties; the disparity never was that obvious because the meaties weren’t Cornish Cross at all but rather Cornish Hens. Anyway, this is a true disparity. Both of these chick are about 9 weeks old. Isn’t that amazing?! Look especially at the feet. Somehow the CC are bred with these massive feet – I suppose they have to be big to support all that weight.
Then of course Jacob had to put the leghorn chick to sleep.
Its head is under its wing.
See, then you wake it up by sending it down the slide.
Pure redneck, huh?
In case you’re not convinced -
heehee
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Psalm 95: 3, 6, 7
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me.

Yep, mid-80s again, and just a beautiful day. So the kids worked like crazy and got things ready, following a list I had made, and we went to the creek!!! And had a great time!! The sandbar of last year is washed away, but there’s a nice beach a little farther down. I’ll post a few pictures tonight, but one of the kids will do more tomorrow along with stories.
First – my favorite pic of the day…
…and again.
So busy digging!
Love these smiles.
The Caribbean it is not, but we love it love it love it oh yes we do.
So it was a beautiful day and a beautiful evening. A good time to practice with my camera -
Especially these baby peaches!!! Wonder of wonders, they’re a long way from eating yet, but at least they’re THERE this year!!! They’re so cute – and even fuzzy already! I so enjoy watching things grow…such an amazing miracle.
And LOTS of baby Braeburn apples, even if the other trees don’t have much of anything -
This Red/Golden Delicious (don’t remember which) tree is showing some promise though -
Raspberries are looking good - the big bushes on the ends are last year’s transplants from Dave & Beth, and the middles are all volunteers. Yay! That’s what we’re hoping for! Thank you, dear friends!!
More beautiful girls with the best Papa in the world -
This one’s too busy to look up, let alone smile!
Thanks for the pictures, Jacob! I love you so much!!
I love you too, Tori!
Jewel - I love how you’re smiling almost all the time! It makes me so happy, and I know it makes Jesus happy too.
And I love watching you love your little brother! It’s fun for me to see your fun together :)
Such a silly little guy!
Dirty face and all – oh so very precious. I love you little Joshua!!!
And. This is what baby blueberries look like. Now maybe this doesn’t mean much to some of you, but it is very exciting to me. I’ve never before in my life seen blueberries develop, and these little babies are even blue already!! Even if the birds get them all (PERISH THE THOUGHT!)(more likely I won’t get any because the kids will get them all!)…I will have enjoyed watching them grow. Although I was thinking tonight of having the kids bring me one blueberry for each one they eat. ?? What do you think, kids? How does that sound? I mean, they ARE my bushes, right?!
Yesssss!! They’re starting!!!
Chives are just starting to open…
Lilacs are almost done although they still smell wonderful. Isn’t God wonderful to give us so many amazing gifts?! And we don’t have to go to a museum, or a mall, or a park, or anywhere, to find it. It’s just all right here – and so beautiful, this creation is. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee, How Great Thou Art, How Great Thou Art…
Breathtaking.
A good sight for a teacher to see *smile*
My farmer man -
YAY! Sweet corn has sprouted and is almost ready to spike! Have I ever mentioned that I love spring?!
Ben put a pullstring on our antique bell. She sounds nice, that she does.
We did Bibletime outside – Sarah & Jewel listened so close as Dad told us a Bible story.
Precious ornery boys!
That’s all!
