March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

CO Part 4

We were on the road long before dawn on Saturday (August 14), heading back home after a fantastic week. I didn't take these px so I don't know the stories behind them...

but I'm sure the stories were interesting!

We drove through some rain which wasn't that fun, but it made for some stunning skies.

One last picnic.

We got home around 7:00pm, very thankful for many safe miles traveled.

**************************

Always glad for a few drone px from Ben. The back of the property was right up against the national park; we completely enjoyed the location of this cabin. It was about 10m from Estes Park, 10m from the park entrance, and its backyard was basically a national park. How absolutely cool is that?

This road wasn't highly traveled which was nice too.

😍

And that about wraps it up.

Tori started a shared CO album; the album had about 800 px by the time the week was over. I struggled to narrow the 800 down to these 150... it was really hard! If you want to see more of the 800 you'll just have to stop by sometime and look at the photo album that is soon to be in the works. It just might turn out to be the biggest vaca album so far... but I'd have to say it was the best vaca we've had so far too, so that checks out, y'know?

And I am thankful.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I Timothy 1:17

  1. Wonderful to see that you had beautiful weather and blue skies! In Colorado Springs that week we had so much smoke from the CA wildfires that we could hardly see the mountains. Ask Meg about it. Looks like a fantastic trip!
