March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

First Week of July

Monday was apple picking day. They were beautiful.

A busy morning, then Dad took Josh fishing at Mud Creek and some of us landed at the lake.

Jason was intrigued with the tiny fish Josh caught.

Total Lodi crop was 6 1/2 bushels; when I took this picture someone had already picked up a bushel.

Jesse's came for supper. Not sure why we only have px of Jason. Maybe bc he's the cutest ๐Ÿ˜

Px from Tori - Monday morning hiking crew.

Thanks Tori!

Tuesday - another highlight of summer.

Evening visitors.

Wednesday was another applesauce day.

Mostly done by lunchtime,

 then A. Sarah took kids to fish at Mud Creek;

(Thanks SK for the px!)

then Josh and I headed to read awhile with a few cutests.

Beautiful couch.

Yesterday Josh went to mow at Levi's -
๐Ÿ˜…

then ASK took him and Jewel to Mud Creek again.

Thanks SK for the px!

Loved having this cutest here awhile.

Still waiting for our Fourth of July peaches, being very careful not to count them before they're picked...

but - yeah, they look really good so far.

Beautiful cool night so this crew camped out.

Today was busy with Friday jobs and kp and other jobs and mowing; other jobs included Jacob fixing my leaky sink faucet and the refrigerator water dispenser and Dad fixing a ripped mower belt so we could finish mowing. Whew what a day.
Only thing broken yet is the dishwasher; next week the new one will be installed and we. are. ready.
Then Levi and his three came for supper while Echo had other plans. Older kids were all at tyg, and we enjoyed a beautiful evening outside.

And that's a wrap for this time.
