March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Random

With puppies right outside my back step, it's really hard to get to my garden these days. Getting rushed and smothered with love by these cute little distractions can make any gray day better.

Josh brought me a beautiful wildflower bouquet last week, and I put it with some zinnias for a delightful centerpiece. I do like fresh flowers on my table. I didn't use to... but now I really do.

*and I know that's not grammatically correct but it is what it is 😅

This was Saturday. Josh took a break from working with Dad and took off across the pasture to see what there was to see.

He and Jacob took the Minne on a little drive to make sure it was ready for Sunday.

This was Friday (yikes, the order of these px is a little wonky. Owell). Joelle is so pleased with her little sister.

And I think this was Thursday evening when Echo stopped by with the kids. I think...

Back to Saturday. I was picking tomatoes (yep, I still have lots but folks have been taking them so I don't have to do anything with them. Win-win.) and craving bruschetta. So I made some for my lunch. Kids thought it looked disgusting. It wasn't. It was phenomenal. I used fresh herbs which made it oh-so-much-better.
*Actually I'd never made it before so how would I know, hmm?*

Sunday after family pictures.

Pure sweetness💖
