March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Fast Last Week

I have no px of Sunday. After church I think we recovered from our lovely Independence Day celebrations.
Monday found us at the lake with a few friends.

Monday night these two did some research on an old useless iPhone.

Not sure where Tuesday went or what we did.
Wednesday I made some chocolate mousse for Josh. Clay dumped his into some water and drank every drop of his "chocolate water." Odd child.

Backyard water fun for littles.

Was this the day we got .6"? Can't remember. At any rate, we are thankful. Things were getting really dry.

 Thursday morning I found this.
Idk what happened to these potato barrels, but it looks like a child (raccoon?) dug into them. Or the rain destroyed them?? That seems weird. At any rate, Dad dumped out the bottom one a couple days ago: a big fat nothing. Oh well, was fun to try anyway. We'll see how the second barrel does. It's still alive anyway...

Piano lesson crowd.

Evening visitors.

Friday: Auggie day.

Kinsey came for supper Friday. After supper, their waterfight turned into swimming when Dad & I got there.

Saturday morning butchering. Beautiful and cool. I took few pictures because I was busy. I wasn't standing around holding a baby like I used to. I didn't do any killing, but I think I did a (very) little of everything else. And I bossed the bagging and put everything into the freezers. Nice to have that job done. We are blessed.
