March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Leaf Raking And More

by Mom and Sarah
Well it’s hard to believe it’s almost the weekend again. Since we only do partial school on Fridays (it’s our Life Skills Day, you know, where we learn cleaning and organizing and kitchen skills. All very important skills to have.), Thursday nights (that would be tonight) kind of seem like a weekend. And, since as of this morning, Kate submitted her LAST paper for her college class (which I’ve been helping her with)(and it kind of seems somewhat like my class sometimes), tonight already really seems like a weekend. SmileSmileSmile
Anyway, back to last Friday. It’s been awhile since Jenna has been here, and we had fun as always with her little crew here. Love these precious grins & giggles.

Since Sarah was babysitting Audrey, she got to help with our celery-cutting party. She did a great job!

Saturday was the 18th (if I’m calculating correctly) annual Leaf Raking Day at A. Sarah’s. As always, kids had fun even though it was a bit on the chilly side.

Sunday we had a small crowd here. Pretty obvious who the favorite is Smile.

Monday Aunt Joyce came out for a while to do some cleaning for us. Here Jewel and I are helping clean the instruments.

It was a beautiful afternoon, so Brandi got to help Kaitlyn haul some manure for awhile.

Monday night we got to babysit Kiowa for a while. Kaitlyn and I were babysitting for someone else though, so we had to miss out this time.

Little Miss Cutie (I’m talking about Kiowa not Tori) was pretty thrilled with the puppy. She loves watching her, although Brandi is still a bit too active for Kiowa to pet.

Not sure what she’s trying to do here. Probably hinting that she wants food.

As you can probably tell, Kiowa’s pretty much the star of the show at all times.

Tuesday we kids and Mom started putting up the sides for the ice rink.

Today Jewel and I got to help Mom finish this comforter.

That’s it.
