March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

12-29-15 Days Go By

by Kate

Seems that our blog has been badly neglected this last while. This post should get us caught up to Christmas.

Last week Leann came and walked with Mom so I gave some of the kids horse rides.

Roxy came for lunch one day last week. Why do little kids like to hang upside down?!

Last Wednesday, we had the Steiners for supper and evening.

After supper some of us went to see A. Sarah’s new house. Leah and Tess stayed overnight while the rest of U. Jeffs headed to U. Daves for the night.

Thursday, Christmas Eve, we went to dinner at U. Dave’s and had the main Christmas gathering. All of Uncle Jeff’s stayed overnight at our house and then went to church with us Friday morning.

U. Dave had a little relay thingy. Everyone was split into teams. One of the “assignments” was to take a bunch of pictures of your team.

After the relay was done, we did more of just hanging out, reading, playing pingpong and Euchre etc.

After church on Christmas morning, U. Jeffs came back for a quick lunch before hitting the road. Josh opened one of his Christmas gifts while U. Jeff’s were still here because U. Jeff was involved with the purchase and delivery of it.

Later that evening we had our family Christmas.
