March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

We got in a couple afternoons/evenings of skating…inculding a good hockey game before we left for Florida. Unfortunately it was freezing most the time we were gone but it warmed up as soon as we got home…

Kaiser Christmas

by Kate

Sorry for the lack of blogging but with being in Florida it just wasn’t a very high priority.

Anyways, back to Kaiser Christmas on Saturday evening the 10th. It was a great time of hanging out with cousins, games, and eating.

So this afternoon the kids were ready for the picture but I was waiting for Rascal to turn around when a really loud CRACK sent everyone scrambling.  It was pretty funny!

A ten-second countdown and a quick finger on the camera got the job done.

For the most part things are pretty slow around here…school and normal life. We’re all ready for a break from school and the college kids are ready for finals to be over for this semester. Everyone is looking forward to our upcoming Florida trip and it gets mentioned almost every day. I’ve been busy with the ice rink. We put the tarp out this morning so now all we need is a really cold front, but with our crazy weather here in Illinois, who knows what will happen. Also very ready for Levi and Echo’s baby to make his/her appearance which could happen any day now. So that about sums up what we’ve had going on……not much.
