March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

TKChristmas 2022 part 1

Family Christmas 2022 started with a delicious brunch. Thankful to have everyone healthy and here!

After someone read the Christmas story,

a few gifts were exchanged.

Jacob modeled LeviEcho's child backpack.

Josh's giant Kitkat for everyone turned out to be a box full of LOTS of small Kitkats. Enjoyed by all😋

From Kate for Jewel -

Who needs toys when there are boxes??

Jacob had the great idea for a ping pong tournament which was tons of fun,

and Katie won bragging rights!

I stayed warm while littles took naps, Dad did chores, and the rest of the crew headed to the lake for awhile.

These px are from random ppl - since I was staying back I requested a few peeks. I got a lot! Idr who all from😏, but thank you if it's you!

Love all the smiles.

Jesse came back to the house right as Travis woke up, so Travis got to go for a little while.

Christmas Day 2022

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday morning celebrating Jesus's birth; after church we were glad the ice was finally ready for skaters.

And sliders.

And 4wheelers.

Dad did chores then came to say hi.

Jacob & Kiowa check out what's under the ice.

Kids did great!

Glad that Grandpa & Grandma could come for supper.

Twas The Storm Before Christmas

Thankfully the original forecast of 8" was changed to 5-6" then changed to 2-3". But Josh made sure the wood box was amply filled anyways. He does a great job.

Sarah babysat some sweet little cousins one day.

Friday December 23. Start Of The Storm.

Like I said, thankfully we didn't get a lot of snow. With the blowing winds and freezing temps, it was bad enough with chores and frozen pipes the way it was. More snow would've been a lot miserabler.
(more miserable?)
Anyway. We stayed warm inside. Kinsey helped make some Oreo balls.

Then a small crowd came for supper.

Some were playing games, some were playing with littles, and some were watching old home videos,

which soon turned into old home movies on the Big Screen. Super fun.

Such talent😅

Nice to see the sun on NYE Day.

Stunning.

New Year's Eve was pizza (I think. I maybe don't remember exactly), then Catan, then Sarah & Jewel went to TYG and Dad & I probably watched a movie. I really don't remember that far back😒

Oh, I do remember Dad had to run to church awhile to help clean up a water mess caused by a frozen sprinkler. Not cool but I don't think it did any major permanent damage so that turned out ok.
