March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Well Hello December

It's been a crazy fast month. Busy and blessed. Seems like I write that frequently but owell; it is what it is.
This was actually November still. Idr why kids were here but it doesn't matter. We always enjoy it. I highly recommend grandkids. Such a blessing💗

This never gets old.

I am a Thrifter. This means I enjoy hunting for bargains at thrift stores. I also enjoy puzzles, and puzzles are often thrift store bargains.

This one clearly wasn't!

December 3 and Kiowa had her 6th birthday. Hard to believe she's 6 already. Where did the years go?

One Sunday evening found a full living room at ggk.

Since Great White no longer monopolizes the garage and Dad is happy with his car in the red shed, Sarah gets the garage. First time this garage has seen two vehicles since we moved here in 1996. Exciting stuff.

Random Tuesday evening if I remember right. Kate was babysitting Jason & Trav and brought them over.

There have been some very gray days lately. Warm, but gray.

Jason & Trav spent a fun day here when Lucy got to go on a work trip with Jesse.

Glad Natalie could join us for awhile.

Travis was not happy waiting his turn!

Doesn't everyone play the piano with an adorable chubs on his shoulders?

So cute pointing out people in pictures.

These two pianos have been played together a lot. It's so fun and they sound amazing. I'm dreaming of a permanent second upstairs piano after this one moves on out of here but I think my dreams are just that.

Last Weekend In November

Kids came for turkey steaks the last Friday in November. I was wrapping up KP when this started, so I'm not even sure who or how it started, but here's how it went - - -

Jason's turn!

It ended there and Idk who won or lost but Ino it was a lot of fun and laughs for participants and spectators alike. Highly recommend 😊

Sunday night we enjoyed a delicious supper and delightful evening with Coreena's family. Lots of smiles!

And that's it for the Last Weekend In November. Stay tuned. I might even get a December post published soon 😊

Thanksgiving Day 2022

So I'm a little behind on this... owell.

Such is life. It's busy but it's good.

Back to preparing for a small Thanksgiving Day crowd. Sarah and Josh were racing to sort m&ms bc you can't use green and blue m&ms to decorate for Thanksgiving now, can you? Idk who won. Ino they had fun😄
